The North West Shared Infrastructure Services (NWSIS) was established as a collaborative team to work on all aspects of shared services. In 2009, we published a document which outlined the strategy for supporting ICT use in NHS organisations across Lancashire.

The aim was to encourage take-up of a new superfast network across NHS Trusts in Lancashire, which would open the door to collaborative working opportunities, cost savings and improved efficiencies.  Working with project partners, NWSIS developed a framework contract within which services can be offered to NHS organisations and GPs. This is carefully structured to become available to both NHS and non-NHS customers.

Collaboration is fundamental to the way the NHS should provide IT services, this is the Northwest SIS teams approach
